Did you know!

One of the most import geometric features of  a shovel drum is the proper spacing of the lagging grooves. Worn lands allow the rope from one groove to make contact with its neighboring rope. This will cause the rope to wear excessively at the contact point.  The best way to prevent this from occurring is  properly spaced and hardened lands.
